Background

Seafood From Scotland, in its role as an inter-branch organisation under Article 13 of Council Regulation (EC) 104/2000, undertakes measures of common interest that benefit the Scottish seafood sector. Seafood From Scotland’s activities will respect the aid intensities allowed by articles 17, 19 and 20 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 736/2008 on state aid to small and medium sized enterprises active in the production, processing and marketing of fisheries products.

Dealing with all seafood species, Seafood From Scotland is a non-political organisation that works throughout the supply chain with fishermen, fish/shellfish farmers, processors, retailers, food service companies, caterers, NGOs and consumers.

The information is stored securely for reporting purposes and is not shared with anyone out with the purpose of the enquiry.

Lawful Basis for Processing: Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

Buyer enquiries looking for potential suppliers

When an enquiry comes in it is logged and a message is sent out to potential suppliers of interest to see if they would like an introduction to the buyer. Once both parties grant consent, Seafood From Scotland facilitates the exchange of their respective contact details.

Requests to be on the external supplier directory

Suppliers are sent a link to a survey monkey page which asks for the relevant details that will then be uploaded on to the websites supplier database.

Industry contacts internal directory

Updated as and when industry contacts are acquired in order to fulfil the services that Seafood From Scotland offer of acting as an industry facilitator and inter branch organiser as well as delivery of industry events.

Lawful Basis for Processing: Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests.

Event registration & participation

When you register for a Seafood From Scotland event your information will be used for the purposes of managing the event such as (but not limited to): the creation of delegate lists, designing programmes and market-insight workshops, to inform you of event details and to contact you after the event for feedback.

The information is stored securely and is only shared with project delivery partners such as Scottish Government, Scottish Development International, Scotland Food and Drink or Highlands and Islands Enterprise. This is for the purpose of furthering agenda of the Scottish seafood sector’s growth.
